The Rise of the Rebecca Cult

Tent Revival has gone so many different directions as of late. With the rough draft finished, now I can see where I want to take my story. It has got me thinking. I may have to rewrite one of my older short stories to get it all to come together in the way I want. Rebecca came along as a result of that particular story. It is called Mixed Parts and it was a short story I developed when I saw a peculiar box where I work my day job. Because of this short story, Rebecca was invented. Now I have decided to go a step further and try to tie not only two stories, but maybe even more.

I have come up with the Rebecca cult. I want to make it a series of books and short stories based on Rebecca and the craziness she gets up to. Is she human or supernatural? Alien or Earthbound? Time will tell. But one thing is for sure, She is a strange and mysterious character and has evolved in different ways for me. I originally thought Tent Revival would be about the Sage, but when I saw I needed a strong female villain, I invented Rebecca (I even have the last name for her but I won’t reveal it yet as it will give away a key element of the story). She also appeared in Mixed Parts, but in a different manifestation. Now that Tent Revival is roughly finished, I’ll have to rewrite certain parts of my short story to tie them together properly. Lots of work but lots of fun. Neither story has been published so I can take liberties with them.

Anyway, some thoughts I had to get out of my head. As long as these ideas keep coming, I should be able to write for a while. Bear with me, they will be out for your reading soon. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for reading.

My name is Edmund Stone and I am a horror/fiction writer. I write in a small rural community on the banks of the Ohio River. I take inspiration from this place full of macabre characters and strange landscapes that most people would only dream of. I'm married to a wife that supports my crazy whims, along with three dogs, a slew of cats and a son who appears periodically from his bedroom to say, "Hi".
