Rebecca and the Sage

Isn’t it funny how you are going along, writing your story, not paying attention to some of the details, then an idea comes out of nowhere. Then again, maybe it was there all along. So is the saga of Rebecca and the Sage from my upcoming novel, Tent Revival.

The Sage is an interesting character, and everyone I’ve let read even a little segment of the story, seems to like the mystery surrounding him and Rebecca. So, I’m writing a prequel style short story to go along with the novel. This came about as I was considering adding a back story kind of paragraph or two in the novel. It didn’t work as this would have been a little too long. I decided to write another story to go before this one to give some explanation of why Rebecca and the Sage came to be and why they have such a deep seated connection. I’ll try and include it in my upcoming book of short stories. I planned to feature the stories I had previously published and another never before seen story. This will bring the total of three stories related to Tent Revival, or the Rebecca Cult series. It should be good. I’m having lots of fun with this novel and the different directions it’s going. Be patient, soon everyone will get the chance to read the whole story.

Interesting little side note. The name Rebecca means ‘to bind’. How crazy is that? A cult is cohesive and she is trying to bring her whole clan together. So, the name is fitting.

My name is Edmund Stone and I am a horror/fiction writer. I write in a small rural community on the banks of the Ohio River. I take inspiration from this place full of macabre characters and strange landscapes that most people would only dream of. I'm married to a wife that supports my crazy whims, along with three dogs, a slew of cats and a son who appears periodically from his bedroom to say, "Hi".
